“And Allah loves those who turn to Him in repentance.”
Sūrat al-Baqarah · 2:222

The Prophet  said: “By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.”

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī · 6307
What is istighfar?

Istighfar, and how a counter helps.

Istighfar is the act of seeking Allah's forgiveness — most often by repeating astaghfirullah (“I seek forgiveness from Allah”). It is a form of dhikr, the remembrance of God, and a sunnah the Prophet  kept more than seventy times a day.

A dhikr counter — a digital tasbih, or tasbeeh — simply keeps the count for you, the way beads once did, so your heart can stay with the words instead of the number. Istighfar does only that: a free, offline counter for istighfar, tasbih, zikr, and salawat, on iOS and Android, with nothing to prove and no one watching.

The dhikr library

Drawn from hadith,
set as they were taught.

Each formula carries the diacritics, transliteration, and meaning — including the salawat, beloved on Fridays. Choose one for the day, favorite the ones you return to, or add your own.
