Privacy

Your practice is yours alone.

The short version: no account, no tracking, nothing leaves your device. The longer version is below.

Istighfar is designed so that we could not spy on you even if we wanted to. There is nothing to log in to, and your remembrance stays on your phone.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The app has no account system, no sign-up, and no login. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location to use the app.

What stays on your device

Your counts, goals, laps, and lifetime total.
Your chosen dhikr, favorites, recents, and any dhikr you add yourself.
Your settings — language, appearance (light/dark), counter type, haptics, and reminders.
Any recitation audio you choose to download.

All of it is stored locally. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it. We keep no copy.

Analytics & tracking

We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party trackers, or profiling. We do not sell or share data, because we do not collect it in the first place. There are no cookies used to follow you.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders (such as the optional Friday salawat), notifications are scheduled on your device. Enabling them uses your system’s standard permission and can be revoked anytime in your device settings.

Downloads

Recitation audio, when you choose to download it, is fetched from our content host and saved on your device for offline playback. This request does not carry an identity for you; it is an ordinary file download.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we will update the date above and note meaningful changes in the app. Since we collect nothing, changes will be rare.
